Research Assistant - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - 1st qualification period (PhD candidate)

part-time employment may be possible

Working field:

  • Participation in the group's teaching activities (e.g., by running tutorials/seminars and by supervising bachelor's or master's theses)
  • Active participation in the research activities of the research group
  • International cooperations with other universities
  • Participation in research projects and publications of Research results
  • Active participation in grant proposal writing

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in Computer Science
  • Experience in the following areas is compulsory: design and analysis of algorithms, computational complexity, data reduction and problem kernels, parameterized algorithmics
  • The ability to teach in German and/or in English is required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferable: algorithmic graph theory, discrete methods, algorithm engineering

Since the position of head of the AKT department is currently vacant, your doctoral thesis will be supervised by Prof. Dr. Stephan Kreutzer, head of the LaS department, e-mail: stephan.kreutzer@tu-berlin.de.
