Student Assistant in Policy Impact Evaluation (m/f/d)

(Position number: 11-2025 SHK Capable)

Working field:

  • Support a systematic review of quantitative ex-post evaluation literature on the effectiveness of climate mitigation policies;
  • Identify, search for, and select relevant academic and policy literature;
  • Extract, code, and standardize data from selected studies;
  • Manage and organize data from multiple sources;
  • Learn and apply critical appraisal techniques to assess study quality;
  • Assist in synthesizing findings, including data analysis and result visualization;
  • Contribute to manuscript writing and documentation;
  • Provide general support for the daily operations of the Evidence for Climate Solutions Group.

Requirements:

You are a Bachelor or Master student, enrolled at a German university, and ideally meet the following requirements:

  • You are a successful student with a background in economics, environmental scienc-es, quantitative social or political science, psychology, or related fields;
  • You are able to read and understand scientific literature;
  • You are eager to learn;
  • You are able to work independently and as part of a team and can deliver outputs along pre-defined timelines.

Additionally:

  • A sound understanding of econometrics, causal inference and quasi-experimental methods is a strong asset;
  • Previous experience in policy impact evaluation is an asset;
  • Knowledge in statistical software like R is an asset;
