Technische Universität Berlin offers an open position:

Student assistant (40 hours per month)

Working field:

We seek a motivated student assistant (HiWi) to support our research project on integrating artificial intelligence (AI) in manufacturing companies. This project aims to explore the challenges and opportunities of AI adoption in production environments and develop strategies to facilitate an AI-oriented transformation.
About the Project: In the future, the competitiveness of manufacturing companies will depend mainly on their ability to leverage AI to create value. Potential benefits include adaptive automation and collaboration between humans and AI in hybrid teams. However, current AI adoption remains sporadic and lacks strategic integration. Our project investigates the barriers to AI implementation and develops methods to support AI-oriented transformation. The goal is to design AI systems perceived as equal partners in human-machine teams, fostering trust and intuitive interaction based on empirical data collected in the laboratory and the manufacturing environments.
The position will be in the Department of Cognitive Psychology and Ergonomics (Prof. Eva Wiese) at TU Berlin, an interdisciplinary department that is interested in the interaction of artificial agents from both a theoretical and applied perspective.

  • Enrolled student with in-depth knowledge of psychology, engineering, computer science, human factors, or a related field
  • Strong interest in human-AI interaction and digital production environments.
  • Basic knowledge of data collection quantitative (e.g., experiments in the lab) and qualitative methods (e.g., surveys, interviews)
